25 Cent Tasti, New Book Among Reasons to Celebrate “Tasti D-Lite Day” on Friday

September 4th, 2012

Tasti D-Lite’s 25th anniversary is Sept. 7, and we have a lot to celebrate

I’ll be in New York City on Friday to celebrate with thousands of New Yorkers as Tasti D-Lite turns 25.

Tasti D-Lite

Tasti D-Lite celebrates its 25th anniversary on Sept. 7.

We’re throwing an official birthday party at our Columbus Circle location in New York City (1841 Broadway, at 60th Street), complete with a mayoral proclamation declaring Sept. 7 “Tasti D-Lite Day” in New York.

Of course, as our hometown knows, every day is “Tasti D-Lite Day” in New York City thanks to our legions of raving fans, who have made Tasti D-Lite such a cultural touchstone that it has been featured on “Sex and the City,” “The Apprentice,” “30 Rock” and the current HBO hit “Girls.”

We’re thanking them on Friday by selling small cups and cones of Tasti D-Lite for just 25 cents apiece, and the deal extends to all participating Tasti D-Lite locations. As part of the celebration, today we begin offering a special “birthday cake” flavor which will be available all month.

Tasti D-Lite has many reasons to celebrate

Tasti D-Lite has many reasons to celebrate:

More Tasti: Our franchise system is growing. About 15 dual-branded Tasti D-Lite/Planet Smoothie stores will open before the end of the year, bringing Tasti D-Lite’s frozen desserts, which have the best nutritional profile in the frozen dessert industry, to people in new markets.

Book release: Friday also marks the release of The Tasti D-Lite Way: Social Media Marketing Lessons for Building Loyalty and a Brand Customers Crave, a book I co-authored with Tasti D-Lite Vice President of Technology B.J. Emerson. The book provides businesses with a roadmap for how to use social media to connect with customers and build relationships. Tasti has earned accolades for how we’ve used Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, Instagram and other tools to interact with our customers and help them spread the word about Tasti.

Businesses that understand social media can develop rich relationships with their customers, who are eager to support brands that care enough to reward their patronage and advice.

Giving back: Tasti is pledging to collect and donate $25,000 to fund pediatric cancer research and family support programs through the Go4theGoal Pediatric Cancer Foundation. September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, and we’re happy to lend our buzz to a great cause.

You can find a full list of our New York City birthday events here. We look forward to seeing you in New York or one of our other locations on Friday. Remember to bring a quarter!

Tasti D-Lite chairman and CEO Jim Amos has more than 30 years of experience guiding successful franchise companies such as Mail Boxes Etc. He was inducted into the International Franchise Association’s Hall of Fame in February.
