March 26-29, 2013 — The Secret Knock: This was Jim’s first time speaking at The Secret Knock in San Diego, an event similar to a Ted talk, but which features an invitation-only group of leaders and thinkers who share ideas and experiences in order to live more successful and enriching lives.
April 22, 2013 — Restaurant Leadership Conference: Jim joined other veterans in describing the transition from military to civilian life, and the importance of the VetFran program during the conference in Scottsdale, Ariz.
May 15, 2013 — NADCO Annual Meeting: “Operation VetLoan Advantage: A New NADCO Campaign for Our Country.” Jim gave a keynote address at the National Association of Development Companies annual meeting in San Diego, announcing a new effort by NADCO and the Small Business Administration to lower borrowing costs for veterans.
July 9, 2013 — Yale University: “Practical Management Wisdom from CEOs.” Jim was part of a roundtable discussion during the Yale Divinity School-Practical Wisdom in Management conference in New Haven, Conn. The conference focused on how to re-emphasize the value of wisdom in management and management education.
February 7-8, 2014 — The Secret Knock: I enjoyed another wonderful opportunity to speak at The Dana in San Diego.
Sept. 27-29, 2014 — United States Conference of Mayors Fall Leadership Meeting: Jim spoke about the power of franchising to create jobs and strengthen communities, and will also address regulatory threats that could make it more difficult for entrepreneurs to start and expand businesses and create jobs.
Nov. 18, 2014 — Denton Community Prayer Breakfast: Delivered the keynote address at the 12th annual Denton Community Prayer Breakfast in Denton, Texas. The faith-based event offers inspiration to community leaders, elected officials, school teachers and administrators.
Jan. 5, 2015 — Northwest Mutual Insurance Eastern Regional Meeting Prayer Breakfast in New York City.
Jan. 23, 2015 — Northwest Mutual Insurance Central Regional Meeting Prayer Breakfast in Chicago.
Feb. 6, 2015 — Northwest Mutual Insurance Eastern Southern Meeting Prayer Breakfast in Dallas.
March 3-5, 2015 — The Secret Knock: Jim delivered a keynote speech at The Secret Knock.
March 6, 2015 — Northwest Mutual Insurance Western Regional Meeting Prayer Breakfast in Phoenix.
March 8, 2016 — Riverside Military Academy: Jim spoke to students of the Gainesville, Georgia, school as part of The Norman P. Blake Family Distinguished Speaker Series, which teaches integrity, leadership, ethical decision-making, and sound judgment.
